On the road again
These rotten Oldies have spent the last week running around sorting out various vehicles and left me all alone on the window sill, staring out at the roadworks and the rain. It’s amazing – every time it rains heavily, the local river turns to chocolate!
The Wingless Wonders have finally got their wheels sorted and we’re away! I’m looking out the window again, but this time at least I am moving. Northwards, by the looks of it, and oh oh, the weather doesn’t look so good. (Don’t let on, but I’m hoping they’ll get washed out so that they might decide to turn southward and seaward again.)
The scenery is lovely, I have to admit. There are towns with funny names, pretty castles perched on mountain tops. Oh, and lots and lots of cool tunnels. I overheard His Lordship say we’ve driven about 60 km in tunnels alone today.
We have finally arrived in Český Krumlov in southern Bohemia, just over the Austrian border, and have found a small but reasonably well-equipped campsite on the outskirts of town. My owners got the caravan set up in record time. I think Herself was hungry (as usual) and Himself thirsty (as usual). They opted to eat at the local tavern which was a good move – great food, great pints and great value. His Lordship couldn’t believe that the pints were only 95c each. So he ordered another to be sure. Then another and another and another.
To be sure, to be sure, to be sure…
