A first for me today: I went on a bike ride!

Her Ladyship made a song and dance about the fact that she managed a 30km ride after having been unable to cycle for the past year. Silly twit fell off the bike and banged up her knee apparently. God, you’d think she’d just climbed Mount Everest or something. She should try flying sometime!

Anyway, she took me along for the ride – Vsar to Porec, along the coast.

The Byzantine mosaics in the 6^th Century Euphrasian Basilica in Porec are beautiful. (Impressed? Hey, gulls can google too. And if you want more facts and figures I’d suggest you do your own googling. That’s enough history from me for now. My bird brain gets overloaded very quickly.)

Anyway, it seems that the ancients found plenty to keep themselves occupied with. They didn’t spend all their time with their faces stuck in their mobile phones. Just saying…
